Where are we when we are in-between?
20/09/2025
7 p.m. - 12 a.m.
In the alley right behind the Night Market.
What do you do when you’ve been pushed to the margins? Have a dance party!
⚧ LIMINAL SPACE IS TRANS SPACE ⚧ is a come and go, participatory performance/T4T party exploring taking up space and visibility in a trans context. It is a celebration of trans ways of knowing and being that takes its aesthetic cues from queer, underground rave and punk cultures. In (temporarily) claiming a liminal space as trans space through an affinity based in transition/transformation and being in-between, while taking up physical space with our bodies and music, we collectively assert our autonomy as trans people and make space for community futurity and joy.
More plainly: we’re having a back-alley rave that prioritizes trans people! Come dance!
Family Friendly? Whose family?
Nuit Blanche YXE is a family friendly event. This framing often functions as a way to push queer and trans people (and their families) out of society on the grounds that their bodies and behaviors aren’t appropriate for all ages. So I want to be clear: queerness is integral to how I conceptualize family. This performance prioritizes trans people. Although it is open to anyone, no transphobia, transmisogyny, or cissexism will be tolerated in this space. If you need support, please make your way to the deejay booth and talk to the party host.
Ask them their pronouns even if you think they don’t look trans!
Bring a (non-alcoholic) beverage!
Take breaks! (Bring a chair!)
Getting enthusiastic consent is mandatory!
